Santiago, Chile 11/19/12 - 11/21/12

This is a short post, as it should be.  We left Mendoza and took a bus through the Andes in order to cross the border into Chile.  The scenery from the bus of the windows was incredible!! There was a movie playing on the bus, but Kristin couldn't put her camera down long enough to watch the movie ;-).  The scenery was so beautiful and so diverse!

Prettiest border crossing!
The Chile border crossing  was the best setting we've seen for a border crossing.  It was also the most formal crossing we've had since we left.  It took about an hour and a half for our bus of 15 ish to get through.

Once we made it to Santiago and got settled in the hostel, we had a pretty simple time and didn't venture out too far.  Plenty of time to catch up the blog and get everything arranged for our arrival to Australia which was up next!

The day after we made it to Chile we found out that there was a big strike in Argentina that caused all flights to be cancelled and the buses weren't running because of road blockades.  We were very thankful that we made it out of Argentina right before that mess so that we could catch our flight to Oz the next day!

It was surreal to be hopping on a plane to Australia, and then continuing on to other places around the world.  The last 4 1/2 months in South America were amazing and unforgettable.  It was bittersweet, but we were ready to move on to another continent and experience what other parts of the world have to offer!!
