Merry Christmas from Malaysia

Merry Christmas to all of our Texans in Transit friends!! Sorry we haven't had any blog posts in a few weeks, the internet in New Zealand is slow and not free.  However, we hope to have some posts up in the next couple of days.  We were in Singapore for our Christmas Eve (we're 14 hours ahead of Texas time), and then bused to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on our Christmas morning.

We decided to splurge and get ourselves a nice hotel room for Christmas so that we would have reliable internet to skype our family and relax.  Merry Christmas to us :-).  A nice upgrade from the campsites and hostels we've been at lately.

We also treated ourselves to a Christmas Day high-tea buffet at the hotel which included turkey, stuffing, various sides, and more desserts than you can imagine.  A good substitute, but no where near as good as our Christmas meals back home.

We were very lucky and were able to skype our families bright and early on our Christmas morning before we got on the bus (Texas' Christmas Eve).  Then, we also skyped our families on Texas' Christmas Day in the evening.  As we've mentioned before we both love Christmas and love spending time with our families, so being away for Christmas was not easy for us.  However, we are so grateful for the technology of skype to help us feel not as far away.  "Being" with our families was the greatest highlight of our Christmas. We love y'all and miss y'all very much!!!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We want to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, well wishes, and notes that have been sent our way over the past 6 months.  We are very blessed to be on this adventure of a lifetime, and we sincerely appreciate all of the encouragement.  Happy Holidays friends!!
